You feel like more than happy that you are going to get your first guitar for your passion as i had les paul special 2 as my first guitar when i started. Important thing is that since you are a beginner, you need to make sure that you buy the right one so that you do not end up wasting your money and ending up in your passion. So this article is going to give you some golden tips that will ensure that you end up spending your money wisely. Here they are:

1- Set a Budget: when you go out for buying a guitar, you will see a large variety of guitars ranging from cheap ones costing few dollars to those costing thousands of dollars. You need to set your budget so that you do not get really confused out there that which to buy. Once you have a clear headed budget with you, you will target the guitars that fall in that range and then you can select from a fix range. This will not only prevent you from over spending or under spending but will also ease out your purchase.

2- Which Guitar suits you: This again is really important that you understand that which type of guitar you want to buy. Do you want an electric guitar? Electric Guitars are perhaps the most famous ones out there. Most of the pop and rock musicians use these guitars. These guitars have solid body normally and use amplifiers to amplify the sound. Then there are Acoustic Guitars which do not require amplifiers to amplify the sound and normally have hollow body. These are somewhat basic guitars. Then comes a mixture of both the types which is a hybrid one. It can be used with or without amplifier to play. So once you have price range in mind, make sure and think well which guitar you want to choose as per your style and taste.

3- Research Well: Once you have made your mind about the price and type of the guitar you want to purchase, start researching that which one will be best suited for you because there are plenty of makes and models available around. Doing your home work and then going out to purchase is far better than going instantly and then messing up there. Gather more and more information about different types and styles and models/makes. Then make your mind which one is the best fit for you.

4- Spend time in shopping: Once you have made your mind, go out and spend some time in shopping. Try different stores and also try to find online. See the pros and cons of different brands and models and try to get one at a competitive price. Haste makes waste. So move around, see different stores, try different places and you will end up getting the right one.

5- Check quality: Once you are there to purchase and have selected the one you need, do check its quality. Make sure it is not made from the plywood or its top. See the neck of the guitar is well made and move your fingers around on it to see that frets are smooth. In short you need to be certain that the guitar you have selected is of good quality and also that it is not damaged or broken from any side.

6- Try and play: Once you have selected the guitar and all above factors have been taken care of, next thing is that you try guitar there. Sometimes it happens is that apparently guitar looks fine and of good quality. But when you take it home and play it, it carries certain defects. So if you try at shop and play it well, then you will not have to face the trouble of returning again and again. Some people feel shy to thoroughly check and play guitar on the spot before buying but it is not good. You are spending money and make sure the thing you purchase it worth it.

These were the tips when you plan to purchase a new one. Sometimes people consider buying a second hand one. Second hand guitar is also a good option to exercise provided that the one you intend to purchase is properly maintained and is functioning well. No doubt buying a new one has its own craze and feel but second hand could also be a good option. Depends actually on your budget. If you can get a second hand guitar of good make and model (as per your requirements) in good price, nothing like it. The only thing to consider here again is that it must function properly. So again try to play it and make sure all parts are working alright. This way you get what you want and end up in saving some money which can later be used for say buying its case etc.
